Be Mindful to MyNoise

Ever wanted to have some soothing background noise to help with your meditations ? Well take a look at this free resource from"MyNoise"

MyNoise.net is a website that does just one job - but does it really well. It is a simple but really well executed idea. Essentially the website has hundreds of background noise creations that are based on 10 separate channels of related sounds. Typical of this is the singing Tibetan Bowls. Each track has a different collections of sound recordings, shown as different coloured sliders in the player. You can change the balance between each set of sounds by moving one of the colours up or down. These are all independent and can be altered during the playing of any given track. You can also set to play button ( the third icon in from the left under the colours ) and this will automatically animate changes made at random to the positions of the sliders. In effect you get a background track that is constantly changing slightly. Perfect for relaxation with a good set of Headphones.

There are literally hundreds of soundscapes available to suit all kinds of preferences. Use them to cut out "bad" noise, as a background for guided meditations, as a "relaxer". far an aid for sleeping, and much more. Best of all you can just put them on with a set of headphones and sit mindfully concentrating on the sound of the "Present", for as long or as short a time period as it suits.

The thing that I love to use the sounds for is to record short recordings of a track and then put then as background to guided meditations. as a lead in and a coming gently out of a meditation. This gives you an easy period to get your mind in the right frame and then to make the transition in thinking to everyday life once you have got through the spoken parts of the guided meditation. It works wonderfully.

The best thing about this website ( and app for iPhones and Androids ) is that it is entirely FREE to use. You can sign up to get access to everything or have a ( still very wide ) selection for absolutely zero £. It has clearly taken the author a lot of time to build up the collection and to write the codes for the unique player system. He is also constantly adding to the various collections and themes. I have made a small donation through Patreon, and for that I get access to everything on the site. Well worth a fiver.

I really can't recommend a sound app more than this one for those wanting to give making active use of a calming background sound. It is perfect in many ways for Mindfulness. What have you got to lose ?
